Book clubs are very popular in the Anglo-Saxon world: a group of people meet to discuss a book they have read, exchange ideas, comments, likes and dislikes.
Our book club sessions are informal, online meetings where we respectfully share our opinions on a chosen book.
All sessions are led by a native speaker and last 90 minutes.
A great opportunity to practise your English in a relaxed atmosphere, away from classroom settings.
A hand-out will be emailed after each session with exercises based on the text. Hand-outs are intended for optional, independent use and include solutions to exercises.
An intermediate (B2) level of English is recommended. Books can be read in English or in your own language but the discussion will be in English.
Our first book club session:
Wednesday 13th April, 6:30pm CET Chosen book: George Orwell, Animal Farm, 1945
How it works
We will announce the title of the book well in advance of the book club session, giving you plenty of time to purchase and read it.
Once you confirm your participation, we will send you an invoice for the session. The cost of each session is €10. There is no subscription, you can participate in as many sessions as you wish. Payment must be made in advance, by bank transfer or via PayPal.
We will send you a link to the session approximately 15 minutes before we start. After the session, we will email you a handout with exercises and solutions.
Please note: The cost of the book is not included.
Suggestions for future books are most welcome. Maximum number of pages: 300 approximately.
